Why I loved Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Movie trilogies often have a difficult time connecting each movie to one another. With large time gaps between stories, awkward re-casts and plots that barely relate to the original. But luckily the 3min opening credits flawlessly covered most of these areas – explaining just how the simian flu spread and how much time had passed betweenRise and Dawn. I also find that when movies relate to its predecessor the references can be really cheesy and unwarranted. This I will not say about Dawn. Instead of riding on the coattails of its cult classic original, this movie gave us only a small glimps of the Ape City that dedicated fans know and love.
